Preliminary information for the safety report Guidance on security clearance: In order to use the electronic services of the Security Police, the person under investigation must have a personal identity number and a strong means of identification (bank account details, mobile certificate or security card). When using e-commerce, the subject of the report fills in his or her personal data on the pre-filing form. The report is initiated on the basis of the information provided in the pre-information form. Please be particularly careful when filling in the information and make sure that the email is spelt correctly. When the Immigration Service has received the form, we will initiate a security clearance application to the Finnish Immigration Service. Once the application for security clearance has been initiated, you will receive an e-mail from the Security Police informing you of the initiation and giving you instructions on how to use the electronic procedure. You will then have 4 weeks to provide the other information required for the report and to give your consent to the report being carried out by the Protective Police in electronic communication. Once you have provided the information and consent, the report will be processed by the Garda Síochána. If the information is not provided within 4 weeks, the application is automatically deleted from the system. You can only start working as an interpreter at the Immigration Service once the result of the security clearance has been received and approved by the Immigration Service, so please fill in the information and give your consent as soon as possible after receiving the notification. To make it easy to record information, it is a good idea to have information on work and education history, places of residence abroad and foreign affiliations in advance. The information should be carefully entered into the e-filing system in accordance with the instructions provided by the system. You can save an incomplete form and continue filling it in later, but once the application has been transferred to the Police Protection Service, the information can no longer be added or edited independently afterwards, so please fill in the information carefully. Once your security clearance has been completed, the Immigration Service will inform the supplier whether your service can be used in the Immigration Service's assignments.This form is used to collect information to start the electronic safety clearance process.
